Chevrolet Appeals to Young Drivers in Detroit and Beyond

Chevrolet had quite a presence at the 2012 North American International Auto Show this year, and we here at Elm Chevrolet are here to fill you in on the details. Our favorite American automaker wasn't just there to show off new models like the Chevy Sonic RS; they were on hand to show young motorists around the world what the future holds for commuting, and we think the future looks bright!
More specifically, Chevrolet showed off two new concepts at the show, and each one manages to appeal to young drivers in a different way.
First up is the Chevrolet Code 130R Concept. This model is a rear-wheel drive coupe that rides on gold 20-inchers. It's a rather long vehicle too, sporting a wheelbase of 109 inches. In terms of size, it makes up for this by having a relatively short overhang, equaling out its length overall. It's equipped with a 150 horsepower, 1.4-liter, turbocharged engine, and Chevrolet estimates that it achieves 40 miles per gallon combined, with the help of GM eAssist.
Then we have the liftback Chevrolet Tru 140S Concept. This one also manages to boast 40 mpg combined, but it does so with a 140-hp, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The vehicle is actually based on a production model too; the Chevrolet Cruze to be exact.
It goes without saying, of course, that we here at 301 East Church Street Elmira, NY 14901 are big fans of both models, and that we wouldn't mind seeing either go into production. And their incredible style and efficiency isn't the only reason why we predict young car buyers would opt to finance or lease them either. The biggest reason why we think they would actually has more to do with the fact that Chevrolet says they would likely com loaded with latest technology and infotainment, while still carrying a price tag of around $20,000.
"Young customers tell us they want functionality with coupe-like aesthetics," explains Frank Saucedo, Director of GM North American Design Studio. "Both the Code and the Tru body styles resonated with the audience."1
