The Detroit Free Press reports, "Production of the 2013 Malibu will begin in January, rather than in May 2012." Confirming the report, Chevrolet spokesman Dave Darovitz, said the accelerated program "had been requested by Dan Akerson, chairman and chief executive of General Motors."

2012 Camaro ZL1 Unveiled

Chevrolet recently unveiled its new top-of-the-line model for its quintessential sports car, the Camaro, at the Chicago Auto Show. The forthcoming 2012 Camaro ZL1, complete with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that boasts an estimated 550 horsepower (hp) and 550 lb.-ft. of torque, will compete directly with the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, whose current 5.4-liter V8 offers an equal amount of hp, but 40 lb.-ft. less torque.
