Chevy Tire Rotation Service

When you drive, the front tires of your vehicle take the majority of the abuse. This means the edges of your front tires will wear out faster, and likely unevenly, when compared to the rear tires. Keeping your wheels aligned and rotating them side to side and/or front to back regularly will help even out the amount of wear and tear that they take, extending their life, and keeping you safe. Regular rotations provide the following benefits:

  • Rotating your tires helps even out wear on the tires themselves.
  • Regular wheel rotation will maintain your vehicle's handling and traction.
  • Many tire manufacturers require regular rotation to keep the tire warranty valid.

By changing the positions of the tires on a regular basis, you'll help maintain an even amount of wear on each of them. This will help extend their usable life and lower your cost of ownership over the long term. Check the owner's manual for your vehicle to find the recommended tire rotation interval. Generally speaking, this usually falls in the range of every 5,000-7,500 miles. Also be sure to consult your tire warranty for more information. The recommended rotation intervals may or may not be similar. One thing you should do proactively is to visually inspect your tires for damage or uneven wear. If you notice any bulges, uneven scrapes, or other visual problems, come see us right away. Another thing you can do is check the amount of tread remaining with a quarter. To perform this test, place a quarter into the tire tread with George Washington's head facing down. If you can see the top of Washington's head, then your tires have worn below 4/32nds of an inch and you should investigate replacing them.

Don't put off tire service. Doing so could lead to damage or put you at risk for an accident. Uneven wear can cause flats or blowouts. This puts your vehicle and your loved ones at risk.
